A New visual was released by Aniplex and the official Sword Art Online Twitter
Today July 4th, Aniplex released news regarding the release of the Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night, during their Online Fest 2021. The film was announced to be released on October 30th in Japan.
The visuals show that Kirito and Asuna will remain as the main characters with a new main character named Mito. You can see the characters reflection below them, showing themselves in reality.
Although the creators made it very clear that they will not be speaking of any specific details regarding Mito's character during the Online event, we can see that she will play a major part in Asuna's story.
This SAO Film will be produced by A-1 Pictures, with the director being Ayako Kawano, Kento Toya character designer from the Alicization returning as the character designer, Yasuyuki Kai, (A previous key animator from the first season of sword Art Online) As the action director, and Yuki Kajiura also returning as the musical composer.
