On Thursday June 9th, Shonen Jump officially confirmed the rumors surrounding jujutsu Kaisen's indefinite hiatus due to the creator Gege Akutami's health. You can view the official tweet below, which also includes a hand-written note from the creator:
Many have speculated that something may have been going on with Akutami due to the recent manga having missing panels included in the release. Shonen Jump advised that although the creator is stepping away due to his "physical health" , it should only be for about a month since it is not a terminal or serious illness.
Although we look forward to what Jujutsu Kaisen releases next, l am sure we can all keep the creator in our thoughts, and wish him a speedy recovery. Also be on the lookout for the new Jujutsu Kaisen movie expected to release 2021.
