Atlanta's Anime Weekend 2021announces Covid restrictions!

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

The Anime Weekend Atlanta conference is back in person for 2021!!

The convention will take place from October 28-31 at the Cobb Galleria Centre & Renaissance Waverly in Atlanta. Here is what you need to know regarding the covid policies:

All attendees participating in the Anime conference must wear a mask for the duration of the conference, and vaccinations are required for all able participants.

"If you are unable to receive the vaccine due to extenuating circumstances (age, religion, medical), you are participating in the event at your own risk."

Those vaccinated will need to obtain the "special sticker" showing their vaccination status.(There isn't really anything "special" about it, and no perks are included. It just gives others piece of mind)

The official website for the conference advised that "All participants are required to wear masks. Hotel staff, convention staff, AWA directors and crew, vendors, artists, exhibitors, any human over the age of 2 must have a mask on at all times (with the exception of eating or drinking). This policy will be strictly enforced."

Photos without a mask will only be allowed outside.

The mask requirements are as follows:

-Fully cover both your mouth and nose. If you do not have a nose, this also includes beaks, trunks, nostril slits, or snouts.

-Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material. This does not include mesh.

-Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face

-Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow you to remain hands-free

It has also been specified that masks may not be neck gaiters, t-shirts covering your face, bandanas, scarves, etc. will not be allowed.
